Adam Schiff: Too Untruthful to be a Senator

I knew Adam Schiff. When he was in California State Government I volunteered for his campaigns, made phone calls and donated money. At the time I was an elected representative in my community of Altadena. Adam Schiff as a member of California government was helpful to my constituents. He doesn’t get pink fuzzies for that- it was after all, his job to be helpful to my and his other constituents.

Adam went to Congress. I campaigned for him. I embarrassed his opponent’s staff in public for him, more or less because Congressman Rogan was wasting all his time on impeaching a married man, President Clinton, for lying about getting a blow job from a woman not his wife. I really didn’t care. I cared that Congressman Rogan wasn’t spending any time helping Altadena. That was his job, not being the blow job police. It was a thunderous take down, and so fed up were all of the Members of the Town Council that even members of Mr. Rogan’s party neither gaveled me down, nor commented. Adam Schiff used to say that was the moment he knew he would win that election. He did win.

He went to Washington. He lost a lot of weight, became bug eyed and seemed suddenly to always be nervous. Washington didn’t seem to do Adam any good personally. Once he was in DC, I couldn’t get any help from Adam’s office for my Black constituents who were being mistreated by the Pasadena Police or the LA County Sheriff’s department. A friend suggested I call Congresswoman Maxine Waters. I called her office. They explained to me this was a breach of protocol but agreed to talk to the Congresswoman. Congresswoman Waters called me back in less than an hour. She told me I wasn’t the first person to call her from Adam’s district and that she was disappointed. She then got my constituents help. That was extra work she took on to uphold the Constitutional Rights of Altadenans, because Adam Schiff didn’t care if Black Americans rights were violated. Because of that you will NEVER hear me say an unkind word about Congresswoman Waters.

Then the Sheriff’s violated the rights of a Altadena man who worked in Adam’s office. Adam wasn’t interested. This man had an impeccable reputation and character. Adam would not intervene. Supervisor Mike Antonovich’s staff helped him. While it was their job, Adam’s employee was on the “other side”. They still worked to uphold his civil rights. More than one can say for Congressman Schiff. Adam is a shit of a person and employer. Period. But believe me when I say, Adam made all the appearances to Black Churches and to NAACP meetings where he pretended to be a champion of Civil Rights. Stolen valor, even if it isn’t military valor.

Things got stranger from there, Somehow Adam Schiff, my pro civil rights Congressman became a co-author of the USA PATRIOT act an unctuous piece of legislation that basically deprives every American of their Constitutional rights on the whim of the executive, and that empowers secret star chamber courts known as FISA Courts to empower the government to violate every section fo the Bill of Rights with no notice of hearing or the ability to oppose.

My friend Kevin Lynn organized a large group of Pasadena and Altadena old line liberals to go in and talk to our Congressman, Adam Schiff. We had well known Reverends from the ACLU and the NAACP, well known human rights activists, environmental activists and LGBT activists. People who had experienced government persecution even with their rights still technically in force under the Constitution and who eventually overcame because of the Constitution. We all went together to ask Adam Schiff to pull his support for this putrid bill. Kevin read a speech. The Congressman made clear he did not consider our concerns worthwhile. At the end as we were attempting to cordially say goodbye, Kevin handed Adam a copy of his speech and asked him to please consider it again. Adam said nothing and let the speech fall to the ground looking Kevin directly in the eyes with a gleam that contemptuously and gleefully said “Fuck You”. I was never so ashamed to have helped a person into office. Never has a person been so unworthy of my trust.

Sadly this is not the end.

Adam during the Trump years was Chair of the House Intelligence Committee. He supported the illegal spying of the FBI via the FISA courts (His wicked creation) of Donald Trump’s campaign. He supported the illegal spying of President Trump’s transition team and President Trump’s oval office and administration. These warrants were issued based totally on literally ridiculous rumors that were obviously untrue, rumors broadcast by people who were known to be unreliable sources. The unreliability was allegedly withheld from the FISA court by the politicized FBI, who were in constant touch with Chairman Schiff. Chairman Schiff convened hearings on this investigation. Many of the hearings were held in secret. Chairman Schiff continuously left the hearing room and lied to the press about what had been testified to in the hearings and repeatedly told the American Public that he had personally seen ‘Smoking gun” evidence that President Trump had colluded with Putin to steal the 2016 election from Saint Hillary of Clinton. It was a lie. Adam Schiff never saw any such evidence because it didn’t exist. Donald Trump never colluded with the Russians or Putin to do anything. Mueller eventually told us that truth. Adam Schiff lied and is still lying to the American public about this issue, defaming Trump and all Republicans and making the innocent focus hate on people who are innocent. Adam Schiff is a despicable partisan.

Congressman Schiff is running for Senate. He is running anti Steve Garvey ads claiming to have defended Democracy against Trump. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Adam Schiff shredded democratic institutions in an effort to make a name for himself and run for the Senate. If you are a Democrat there are better choices than Adam Schiff- Katie Porter and Barbara Lee jump to mind. If you want a leftie, they will vote left, but each of them has more than a shred of personal integrity, making them far preferable to Adam Schiff.

If you are a Republican there is Steve Garvey, or Eric Early. Mr. Early has been very active in his law practice in protecting parental rights in the face of aggressive School Districts who are seeking to devolve the concept of parental control. I prefer him because he has a record of doing things on issues. Mr. Garvey is famous.

The bottom line is that no matter what your political view, Adam Schiff does not deserve your vote. California needs better representation than this manipulative, totalitarian fabulist.
